I bought this book for my daughters best friend. But when i started reading it i almost kept it for myself. I have a lot of books on herbs but none that are step by step with really cool pictures on how to do everything. I will buy myself a copy soon. But i am glad i got it for her. She loved it.

So informative and covers every aspect of herbs and its uses. Pictures and definitions are easy to understand even for the novice! Fantastic gift and more than worth the cost.

I was extremely pleased and more than pleasantly surprised when I opened this book and found out that it is truly a digest of all things herb! Not only does it give page by page listings of the numerous herbs themselves, it gives an abundance of unique and useful information about these herbs' varying histories, medicinial qualities, instructions for growing, various garden plans, recipes, and even home cleaning, beauty, and craft ideas. Normally I would take a book like this and simply display it on a shelf, (it is both beautiful inside and out) but I definitely want to read this one a little more in depth and will be more than happy to refer to it frequently!

I purchased this book for my dau-in-law as a birthday gift and when it arrived we reviewed it together.....loved it so much that it will be my next purchase for myself. I was especially interested in the herbal health remedies and felt it was very well organized and informative.

I was hoping that this book would provide me with practical information for growin and utilizing garden herbs. I was disspointed.
Many plnts mentioned throughout the book are not herbs. In both the health and beauty section you are referred to buying expensive comercial products and not utilizing items from you garden. A recipe for deodorant utilize $50 neroli oil.
The crafts include lack luster sachets.
The gardening section provides little information on herb specific issues but rather goes over soil properties. This information can be found in any general gardening book.
The book is rich with plant trivia, however. The reader will find the history of plant usages which include an extensive sidebar article on the poppy industry.
While I liked the practical recipes in the green cleaning chapter. This information does not merit the cost of the book.
