It’s easy to revive an old piece of furniture whose “bones” are good but upholstery has seen better days (and in the process revamp the look of a room for a fraction of the price of buying new furniture) with the instructions in this brilliant tutorial. Custom Slipcovers Made Easy breaks down the process of makings slipcovers into a sequence of simple tasks with easy-to-follow instructions and step-by-step photography. This is great news for those of us who have frustratedly stashed our half-finished slipcover projects where we would never have to set eyes on them again! Everything you need to know is here: choosing fabrics, selecting skirt styles, determining yardage needs, constructing the slipcover shell, fitting slopes, curves and angles, and much more. And the 25 projects run the gamut from quick to complex. Beginners will want to start with one of the many Done-In-A-Day projects: covers for garden chairs and matching table cloth, seat covers, headboard and footboard covers, and even dog crate and ironing board covers. And more experienced seamstresses will appreciate the complete tutorials for custom covering upholstered furniture. You’ll love the results! Color photos. Softcover.

This is a great book with instructions that are well illustrated and easy to understand. I especially like the fact that the measurements are in inches for us that are from the old school. It also has some nice ideas for covering outdoor pieces and great charts to help with measuring.

I am happy with this book so far. I'm in the planning stages of my slipcover makeover, but this book seems like it is just what I needed. The directions are clear and very organized. I think this will make my projects very easy to complete.

This book was perfect! I'm big into yard sales and get a lot of hand-me-down furniture from family members who will throw away a piece of furniture that is structurally sound but may be stained or torn. Now I can get my furniture to match and also design my furniture with different coordinating patterns in one piece rather than having to just take what the stores have to offer and still had to use T-pins to get it to fit right. If you paired this with Upholstery Made Easy, you could revamp your entire home!

I bought this book to see how to make and fit a slip cover for my furniture. I love it, it helped me alot, Although I took a short cut here and there it gave me the basics of what I needed to do. I have sewn since I was in school which has been years ago so I did have experience. I would recommend it. If I could put a picture on here I would. Very nice details and step by step instructions.
