One-Hour Project Organize your desk drawers
* Take everything out of the drawer(s).
* Discard the junk . . . old Post-it notes, ATM receipts, broken rubber bands, etc.
* Relocate things that belong elsewhere such as photos or a stray bank statement.
* Group like items together to see what you have. Desk drawers should be used only for things that support you in getting paperwork, projects, and phone calling done.
* Furnish shallow drawers with organizers to divide space. Choose drawer organizers with individual components so you can outfit your drawer with the appropriate size boxes to contain what you are storing-small compartments for paper clips, larger ones for camera and cell phone USB cables.
* Keep small things in shallow drawers. Big pads of paper, envelopes, and spare manila folders will obstruct what’s in the drawers. Better to store these on a shelf. (See entry 186, “Organize office supplies.”)

Nice book - I like the unconventional format. I look forward to delving into it. A pity that there's no chapter about pet-derived clutter, though.

I was pleasantly surprised at how much I didn't know and how helpful this book was in decluttering my closets and drawers. I found it most helpful to pick one topic and master that before going onto the next chapter. The book resides on my coffee table as a constant reminder of the work I still have to do.

Boring, tired, vague & generic. Breaking a book down into single sentences does not constitute one hour projects. The suggestions could be taken from any newspaper. I feel it was a complete waste of my time and money.

This book is mostly geared towards disorganized people, but can provide great tips for those who are already organized to maintain. Tips are organized by room. The format of the book is excellent with illustrations where needed. How to fold a fitted sheet? Yeah, yeah, we all KNOW, but we just don't want to do it!! I received the book on Saturday and BREEZED through it. I've already placed my stickers and have a game plan for the next few months on decluttering. In the process, it provides organization tips that will also help you decorate.

This book was surprisingly helpful. I expected advice on how to eliminate clutter, but received ideas to store needed items in way that allow more free space within my living quarters. A great resource book.
